SLMPD Employment Opportunities

Two Part-Time CSO Positions Available

(March 21, 2016)  The South Lake Minnetonka Police Department is currently accepting applications for 2 part-time Community Service Officers. These positions provide support services to Patrol, Investigations, Administration, Crime Prevention and Animal Control. Must also be willing to work some Park Patrol shifts. Must have a high school diploma and possess a valid driver’s license. Candidates will also be required to pass a background investigation.

These are part-time positions that work a varied schedule of day, evening and weekend hours. 15-20 hours per week with a starting pay of $15.23 per hour. Preference will be given to those enrolled in an accredited law enforcement program or having performed law enforcement volunteer work.

Volunteer Reserve Officer Position

The SLMPD Reserve Unit is currently seeking interested applicants who meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • At least 19 years old
  • Good physical condition
  • Possess a valid Minnesota driver’s license
  • Have no felony or gross misdemeanor convictions
  • Pass an oral examination
  • Pass a background investigation
  • Successful applicants must complete the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Reserve Officer School. This requirement may be waved if applicant is currently enrolled in a law enforcement program.
